Mission
Port View Preparatory® is a collaborative educational school that caters to the unique needs of K-22 students with developmental disabilities, both mental and physical, incorporating research-based instruction and therapy to ensure personal, social, and educational growth in a safe and nurturing setting.
Philosophy
We believe that each student is entitled to an education that facilitates mental, physical, and emotional empowerment. We feel that every individual can contribute and serve his or her community, and we know that each student offers a unique set of strengths and talents. Each of our students receives a personalized education that they will take with them when they leave.

- Multiple Grade Levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School programs are offered. Additionally, Adult Transition education is provided to ensure students are ready for life outside of the educational system.
- Evidence Based Behavioral Programs: Our behavior approach is evidence based and uniquely developed to focus on intervention rather than restraint, understanding rather than forced compliance, and proper expertise rather than outdated responses. Functional Behavior Assessments are performed by BCBAs trained in the most up-to-date empirically validated methods to ensure behavior programming is intentionally addressing each student’s needs.
- Effective Ratios to Ensure Student Safety: Unmatched Student to Instructor/Aide ratios; including 1 credentialed teacher for every 12 students and 1 trained Classroom Support Provider for every 3 students. 1:1 and 1:2 ratios are also available as prescribed by the IEP team.
- State-of-the-art Facilities and Technologies: We believe that our students deserve the best and therefore have developed campuses with the most advanced therapeutic equipment, technologies, and classroom furnishings. We believe our students deserve the opportunity to perform under optimal conditions and therefore each area of the campus has been carefully designed with our students’ needs in mind.
- Opportunity Based Learning: Our philosophy is that when students are given opportunities to engage, they will gain and utilize skills to replace challenging behaviors. We therefore create a multitude of opportunities including school dances, student government, and monthly educational assemblies.
